We are three hours away from the back to the future era of the Oakland Raiders.

Chucky is returning.

The sports world will be focused on Oakland today and it should be. Sixteen after he was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jon Gruden will be introduced as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday, kicking off a 10-year, $100 million deal. The history of the Raiders will be forever changed today,

Gruden’s press conference, which starts at noon PT, will be more of a celebration. Expect many faces of the Raiders’ past there. It’s going to be a party.

However, there is also some football business to discuss. The key to me will be Reggie McKenzie’s presence in the press conference. Surely, Oakland owner, Gruden and McKenzie will be asked about the general manager’s role.

If the answer is McKenzie’s role will not change, I will have a difficult time believing that. Gruden was only going to come back to a perfect situation. Also, no one is going to be play $10 million year not to have total control of the roster.

It will be a fun, fascinating day. Please check back often to RaidersSnakepit.com often for updates. Today is the last day will be free. Our subscription viewing kicks in Wednesday. Our cost is $59.99 a year or $7.99 a month.
