Steve has covered the Raiders in some capacity since their return to Oakland in 1995. He was the full-time beat writer from 1997-2010. for the Contra Costa Times, Oakland Tribune and San Jose Mercury News and covered more than 400 NFL games, including four Super Bowls. He also is the co-author of a recently released book titled "Al Davis: Behind the Raiders Shield."

    You are worth whatever someone is willing to pay you. That goes for anything not just football.

    I am very excited to see who Gruden can bring in this offseason. I am also curious to know who wants out. Don’t let the door hit ya………

    I have always tried to be steady and objective when it comes to our Raiders. But I have to admit, I am very excited at the thought of Gruden leading us back to win multiple SBs. I know that is a lofty expectation, but I am hopeful our Raiders time has finally come.
