What’s wrong with Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper, everyone wants to know. Or so it seems. In short, nothing is wrong with Cooper that Jon Gruden’s imaginative play-calling can’t fix in a hurry. Until that manifests itself in Cooper turning short passes into long-gainers, quick slants into first downs and skinny posts into touchdowns, people
I remember other teams running picks on us and thinking “Why don’t we do that?” Seems obvious to get Coop the ball quickly with slants or picks, but seemed like bubble screens were all that Downing could muster up. So glad Downing is gone.
Precisely. Remember all the bubble screens Cooper was a part of at Alabama? It’s about getting the ball in his hands and letting him use his elusiveness, vision and speed to create big plays.
If Gruden gets the same production from Cooper he got from previous top WRs, all will be right in Raiderland. Gruden will not be happy with drops.
Lets also remember a great offense takes production from many players not just one. Brown, Rice, Jett, Rison, Garner, Wheatley, Crockett, Dudley, Kaufman and Richie all had key production.
