The Jacksonville Jaguars needed only a 10-win season, coupled with two playoff victories, to reach the point where they felt confident enough to remove the tarps from thousands of seats in time for next season’s games. Are the Raiders going to follow suit? They have had the upper-deck seats, known as Mt. Davis, on the

I love Jon Gruden. And I expect great things. But on his first swing of our roster he came up swinging and missed. David Amerson cannot be replaced for $5.5 million. He had an injury plagued season which is bound to happen to 70% of the players in the league at some point. PLUS the Raiders generated absolutely ZERO pass rush during his tenure. Amerson is a flat out stud. And a steal. Hence why teams are LINING UP to sign him since his release. Gruden made his 1st huge mistake. Let’s wish and watch David Amerson have a solid career.

I mostly agree but I also think that if they cut Sean Smith too they could get someone in free agency to pair with Conley and then do what you can to keep tj if it’s too much money to resign there will be veteran talent still on the market or draft.

Pretty sure he was statistically the worst corner in the NFL last season. I loved him as much as the next guy, but foot injuries on a corner who has had 2 straight mediocre seasons is not something Gruden is betting on. Sign a Malcolm Butler in FA, draft a 2nd round corner like a Carlton Davis, with Gareon Conley, then you don’t worry about the 5.5 million Amerson because you have 2 (basically) rookies offsetting Butlers money.

I don’t agree at all! Although It’s true the Raiders had little pass rush, Amerson was terrible the last 2 seasons and when dbs can’t cover pass rush has no chance for a sack . Reggie never should of gave Amerson that ridiculous contract.

I agree. Except for signing Butler. I don’t think his play is going to justify the inflated salary he is going to command. I would rather bring in someone like EJ Gaines or along those lines. Still an upgrade

I had heard, but nothing official, that repairs and permit costs made it un-viable for the hope that they would sell them out and the costs would not be recouped in time for the move. While this could have been total crap, i would not be surprised if the city and county made those costs really high, and at the time moving in the 2019 season was still on the table after a 12-4 season.

More revenue is always a good thing for the owner. Will it be reinvested in the team? Fans have little say in this. Once your money is spent you no longer have control.

If the Coliseum is continually sold out, removing tarps is an option. It would be awesome if that extra revenue could be given to local charities.

Gruden decided that Amerson was not part of the future of this team, for whatever the reason. Why keep him around?

Gruden has plenty more decisions to make, some will not be popular with fans and some will.
