Linebacker Brian Cushing has undergone more than 20 surgeries during his NFL career, is 31 years old and is fresh from a season in which he missed 10 games as punishment for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. And the Raiders still should consider signing the productive veteran. Cushing, 31, has started all 104 games that

Get Zach Brown for cryin out loud. See if Cushing will come in cheap. I’d take those moves, gladly

Agreed, Mike. Zach Brown is a high priority. Brian Cushing is a low-cost, low-risk move that would be icing on the cake. A team that is learning how to win can’t ever have enough true pros like Cushing. As I wrote, Gruden loves those kind of players, too.

C’mon man this guys a total meathead and the complete opposite of what Raiders need. He’s a lousy teammate from what I’ve seen over the years he’s has been injured and suspended multiple times . We do not need to kick the tires on every reject waking the streets ‘. Today’s linebackers are sideline to sideline can cover and hit , he can hit if someone is standing still but that’s about it . Build a bully with ascending players and continuity over years together not stop gaps

Cushing could be our Romanowski part 2… he has to come cheap though due to his medical and suspensions being so consistent. Sign me up though for the attitude and demeanor stopping the run is an attitude he has plenty!

Oh, no doubt. Cushing doesn’t deserve a huge contract. Given his age, last year’s suspension for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy and the 20-plus surgeries, the onus is upon Cushing to prove that he can still play at a high level. That smacks of the Raiders offering Cushing an incentive-laden contract. Thanks for the feedback.

Would not be thrilled about signing him.

As stated, small contract with big incentives, otherwise I pass on him.

Rather take the chance on Bowman. He is here and wants to be here, so he says. The healthier he gets, the better off we are with him.

Some of this has to fall on RM, his iffy draft picks and not signing key FAs. Hopefully that changes this year with Gruden.

Just resign bowman and draft a linebacker and we will be fine.
