Given the team is going to pay Lynch his $1 million roster bonus Sunday, that portends that Lynch will, indeed, be back next season. The deadline for the Raiders to

I guess it’s safe to say the Raiders are gonna pound the rock next year. If they can move the chains running the ball, Carr will become lethal on play action. When Gruden had Wheatley and Garner it was a beautiful thing. And Wheatley wasn’t anywhere near Lynch’s caliber. Then again, none of the other guys on the roster are Garner quality.

I’m actually surprised. I figured they were gonna let Lynch walk.

I’m not surprised Lynch remains. Cutting him would open up another major hole when there are more pressing needs

Gruden isn’t kidding when he says he wants to “pound the rock”

He’s also expressed admiration for Wisconsin’s heavy run first mentality in an era of spread offenses

Speaking of needs, I hope Donald Sharpe can man the RT position

Lynch was one of the few bright spots from last years’ team. He could’ve hit a 1,000 yards rushing, and was one of the few players who seemed to be putting out effort the latter part of the season. On the other hand, some stories about him being a disruptive element on the team are a concern. We’ll see how it goes.

I think the Lynch-Martin comparison to Wheatley-Garner is appropos. Once Gruden finds his Zack Crockett, he’ll wind the clock back to 2001 again.

I love it. I didn’t like letting crabs go, but he did take some plays off when we were out of contention. I never saw a play that made me question BM’s desire to play. He always ran hard, even when the game/season was out of the question. And don’t forget that Marshawn got better as the season went on. Much better.

I would have liked to be a fly on the wall in the Gruden Lynch meeting.

To hear what Gruden spelled out as his plan for Lynch. The Lynch reply for how he sees himself utilized.

I hope Gruden gets all the production he can from Lynch. I hope Lynch gives everything he has to our Raiders.

All without any on or off field costly antics.

My guess is that all the other backs will get a ton of time in preseason. Fighting it out in practice and games to see who backs up Lynch.

I don’t see Lynch getting a ton of carries in preseason games. Not worth the risk.

Plus, this season Lynch starts off as already being in shape for the rigors of the NFL. So there should be less time focused on getting game shape and more time learning how to run behind a FB and 2 blocking TE’s lol.

Love to see some old I-formation, follow your fullback ground and pound trench warfare this season. Offset-I to create a little confusion, throwing to either back out of he backfield….then in the 4th quarter, just run towards KO and his multiple pancakes!
