The Oakland Raiders definitely have a type this offseason as Jon Gruden completely makes over the roster. Oakland has signed 16 unrestricted free agents from other teams — by far, the most in the NFL – in free agency. Most of these players are role players, who have a connection to the new staff and

When you blow dozens of draft picks, especially in the top 4 rounds, you have to go dumpster diving after a few yrs. McKenzie sucks in the draft! Now we’re going to field a bunch of guys from the local nursing home, just like in 2013 and 2014

Gruden is doing all he can to bring talent to this team.

If he brings in more vets to compete for roster spots, so be it. Neither of these guys should break the bank.

Gruden and the other coaches know who will work in the new schemes and who wont.

It’s all about creating the right culture and he’s going for high character guys that can help create The Chucky Way. He’s gotten rid of Crabtree and King who acted like they were above the team. The guys he’s brought in are hungry and love to play football. Highly successful people are more passionate about their craft than money, and when they have that mentality, then the money follows. The new sheriff has brought in grinders. You need role players on every team in every sport. And like Mike says above, the Raiders picks have been horseshit, so there have no choice other than to bring in solid role players. And despite all the older players they’ve brought in, they still have a large number of young players that need to be mentored and challenged by seasoned vets. I love what Chucky is doing, keep it up Chuck !
