Are assigning grades in the immediate aftermath of the draft silly? Sure, there is a degree of silliness in play. However, it is an interesting

Agree with your take on this one, Bill. Lots of “ifs” for the Raiders. Chubb going to Denver and James going to the Chargers may hurt for a long time IF this Raiders draft is a bust!

I really don’t think Gruden has a very good eye for personnel. He has way too much control and power now…and quite frankly he hasn’t earned it.

I am hoping I am wrong but I think the Raiders have already been leap frogged by the Broncos because they took Gruden to school on how to draft. This is a 4th place team without question now.

I’m not sure there is one player the Raiders took that as fans we can look at and feel confident that the player will be a true difference maker. Most of them have a lot of risk associated with them. Here is hoping these players show up and play the best way possible. I’m not feeling it right now.

I know the donkeys and Chubb are getting a ton of press and for good reason. Chubb could become a great player.

However, if Key and Hurst play to their potential (with no off field issues for Key or health problems for Hurst), I think adding them to Mack and Irvin could be a devastating combination that could help us win SBs.

Some big IFs there, thankavet which is I think some of the concern with this year’s draft thus far! As Bill says, time will tell! 😉

        Huge IFs. Absolutely.

This is not the way I wanted the draft to go. I would have picked much different players at most spots.

But both of these guys are worth a look at the spots taken. Both are 1st to 2nd round talents. If they live up to those talents, it will make our Raiders much better.

And after last season, we can use as many players like that as possible.

I know only time will tell, its that way every year. But it is a fans right and even a need to discuss who we think are the winners and losers. The media gets to do it, why not us fans.

No need to get fancy, Gruden and the Raiders got cute instead of simply taking the best players who could elevate the team on defence. This wasn’t time for a risk taking venture. Get a core of players first on defence then get cute and take some risks. Even if this works out, I think the draft approach this year was faulty.

All rookie draft picks are a risk – look back to all NFL Teams past draft and you will find all Teams with wasted high picks – for our Rookie class let hope that we get lucky and that this class ends up being one to remember as a great one.
