We all knew the Oakland Raiders’ selection of Michigan standout defensive tackle Maurice Hurst came with some risks. Now, the team is hearing noise about the choice. It is little rough, if you ask me. We all know the back story: Hurst, a likely first-round pick, tumbled down the draft board because of a heart

    Phukem.

If the man wants to play football, who are we to ruin his dream? He knows the risks and has talked to plenty of doctors.

We picked a player/prospect who has the talent of a 1st or 2nd round pick in the 5th round. I love it and I hope he plays for 15 years with us and dominates!

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!! This isn’t some child we’re forcing out there to play in a pee-wee football game. He’s a man. He gets to choose what he wants to do in this world. He wants to play NFL football? Fine. Let’s go! Everyone needs to STFU and let it go! Sick of this pu$$y generation who wants to protect everyone from any possible negative things that might happen.

Wow, Bill! This issue got you a bit riled, eh? I agree with you. The condemnation of the Raiders for taking a player who wants to play and whose doctor(s) say he can play is a bit over the top. Also, let’s not forget that he’s a fifth rounder, so if he never plays a snap it would not be as if he was a “bust.” It is not uncommon for fifth rounders to not make a team.

I wonder how these holier-than-thou “experts” felt about the NFL parading Ryan Shazier at the Draft! Or how about head trauma to children playing little league football, or even better, if they would encourage their kids to play this violent game…..I wonder if they’re in the sports business just for the money or ethics….hypocrites!

Ive been watching Hurst play on youtube and on the “All or Nothing: The Michigan Wolverines 2018” Amazon series and he looks and seems healthy. I find it hard to believe that college coaches and doctors and now NFL coaches and doctors would clear a player to even practice if they really thought his health was in any kind of grave danger. Perhaps the bleacher reporter is more concerned about clicks than he is about Hurst’s health?

Yeah, someone’s desperately trying to get more twitter followers. Oh well, Raiders are a HOT topic this offseason and everyone wants to bash every move Gruden and company make, because it’s easy to do. Man I hope Gruden gets the last laugh. And God bless Maurice Hurst and his career. Any given player can “literally die on the field” no NFL coach said this.

I understand he’s a man and all but he’s still a kid so his choice may not be what is best for him you have to admit with all this fuss it is scary this is a young human being you feel it to

But I can’t change anything so I echo the coaches and Raiders nation “If he dies then he dies”.

Why isn’t anyone killing Michigan for letting him play? His issue has been known for a couple years now. This is petty, and I commend you for calling it out for what it is.
