2018 is about winning, not transitioning for Jon Gruden as he returns to the sidelines after a 10-year hiatus. The Raiders were a 6-0 team in 2017. However, with a little luck and the great players rebounding, 2018 can produce a winner again in Oakland. Here is a look at five things that most happen
I would say, as you did, that the offensive line better produce up to their abilities. If the O-line falters, Carr (and Lynch) falters.
Yep.
Agree on all of these but Special Teams need to spark as well – new punter has to be able to flip field position and the return teams need to improve on the last few years in hanging on to the ball and making some splash plays. Switzer will really help here.
Gruden seems to really buy into all three phases supporting each other but ST should never be overlooked in their impact on the win-loss count.
True enough.
And Gruden might show little rust as a coach after 10’years away from coaching
Futhermore, the team must gel and can’t wait until mid season to perform as a team (vs a collection of parts)
Bill, as always you’re forgetting the interior DL. The DT push is the most pressing issue for the Raiders D, against both the pass and run. Without that, it’s going to be another bloodbath on defense. I’m so hopeful these young DTs are the answer.
