While the completely expected news that Khalil Mack is continuing to stay away from the Raiders’ voluntary May workouts is getting most of the attention, Donald Penn provided the significant news of Tuesday’s OTA session in Alameda. Penn was on the field and working in his normal spot at left tackle with the starting offense.

Move Miller now to RT for this year then.

I don’t like flipping Miller back and forth between tackle positions. Put him at one spot and let him learn

      That’s what I think.

Gruden said today that Sharpe has also lost weight, something he was asked to do, and is working as a swing tackle and working inside. He might earn more playing time.

I said right away that I expect Miller to earn the LT spot. If he cant, maybe we see him in the jumbo package.

I understand Miller may be a better fit at RT now, but, as Gruden said, he will be getting work at LT. And that should be the expectation.

If Penn can come back and dominate at LT, so much the better for us and Carr. But if his play is not at a higher level this season, Miller will likely be the starter sooner than later.

I do wish Mack was there at camp. I would love to see Miller having to block Mack consistently. If Miller can contain Mack, I would have few worries about putting him at LT day one.
