He was the full-time beat writer from 1997-2010. for the Contra Costa Times, Oakland Tribune and San Jose Mercury News and covered more than 400 NFL games, including four Super Bowls. He also is the co-author of a recently released book titled "Al Davis: Behind the Raiders Shield."

    Gruden seems committed to building from the O and D lines, then moving out.

    I don’t agree with some of this years picks. But that’s life.

    Looking forward to next years draft, there may be more of a focus on LBs and DBs along with even more WRs, RBs and TEs. We shall see.

    Winning SBs is what counts. I hope we are well on our way to winning several in the G2 era.
