The Oakland Raiders have had a ton of turnover this offseason. Jon Gruden has jettisoned many players. Let’s rank the former Raiders than Gruden has waved good-bye to in recent months: Michael Crabtree: Having Crabtree atop of this list tells you it isn’t a great group. Crabtree was just OK last year. I do, however,

Pretty much agree, although I think that TJ Carrie will be a bigger loss than you do. I also would have preferred to keep Jamize rather than bringing in someone new. Letting Crabs go will hurt and unless the new punter is as good as Marquette the loss of him will be felt. Marquette, for all of his antics, helped change the field position.

Carrie was versatile and you hate to lose guys who can fill in at multiple spots. Carrie could play all each DB position.

Autry is the same as above, but could play all the DL spots.

Crab had his issues. If he was unmotivated, you could tell on the field. Gruden wont take that.

King, if its true that Gruden never even met with him, I have trouble with this one. However King will not be missed if the new P gets good quickly.

I would have loved to see Jano retire a Raider.

I think we upgraded Switzer for Patterson. I envision Gruden using him on O quite a bit too.

I also think K. Smith will be a better inline FB than Olewale, which is what Gruden based this move on.

It does not hurt having several players who know the new STs coach and playbook.

There are likely still more changes coming.

Crabtree wears out his welcome wherever he goes. I do think that there is a good chance Nelson will not produce on the field in a way commensurate with his salary, but if his example of how to be a pro helps Cooper fully develop in to what most of us think he can be then it is worth it.
