I don’t see Lee Smith as a part time player. Gruden wants to run the ball and he will be a key part of that. If Gruden can get him more productive in the offense, that would be a huge bonus. The opposing D not being able to focus on Smith as a run player only helps our O. I can see Smith with a career highs in catches and TDs if things work out. A strong team guy, leader, STs player and he could play FB in a pinch too. Versatile guy and Gruden loves them.

I did not see the Ellis re-signing coming. I do see him as a part time player. Perplexing to me, especially with the addition of Hall and Hurst along with Rubin and Rucker. Maybe RM should have saved that money and put it toward that Mack contract.

Nelson, as you stated, knows the system and I am not sure he makes it through preseason.

Manuel, telling because he was on the roster when Gruden traded for Hackenburg, so there’s that.

There is still a lot of turnover to go. And next offseason will be more of the same.

I guess Manuel is as good as it gets for that salary. And yes, if DC goes down the Raiders are effed.
