At the risk of getting all mushy, I liked what I saw last night from Chucky’s boys. But I have to remind myself, it just doesn’t matter. See, here’s the thing about the preseason – it’s all horseshit. It doesn’t matter. But you say ‘hey, we beat the Lions, 16-10, and we’re 1-0 under Jon

Great Article Bill. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. Ok can you please find out what Scout found PJ Hall. What got his attention. Bill did you notice how well we were coached? looked like night and day from last year. Proud subscriber Paul Nava. Oh Bill what do us subscribers Have to do to have you at Training Camp for a day and at one Preseason game most likely the 3rd preseason game? I think we’d love to have our Boots on the ground, live through you . I want to know if you can feel/see the difference from the past coaching, see how the players react to Gruden. Feel the Vibe. Can you set up a gofundme thing or please let me/us subscribers know much you’d need to go. I’d happily Donate what I can. Just want our website there and let the other fish wraps now there’s a New Sheriff in town

Bill just a Thought, bet Big Reggie gets moved up to a VP “ glorified scout “ position and Gruden brings in Louis Riddick . Think the Green Bay thing will happen, good old Ted Tompson just got pushed up stairs and a New GM was put in place. Think that would save face on Reggie and Mark. Thoughts?

I loved what we saw from Warren. He might be the real deal. Its just preseason though.

Switzer looks to be what Roberts was previously.

It was also nice to see Richard used as a mismatch. Gives me some hope there too. Hanging onto the ball issues were on STs, a spot that seems to be filled by other players now. He will go or stay as a RB now.

To many f*#king penalties. Bad calls or not. We cant afford to beat ourselves.

I thought Cabinda missed on way to many tackles last night. Anyone else see it that way?

D is still a huge work in progress. MACK would help that situation!!!!!!!!

That drive the Lions had, 18 plays for 88 yards with over 8 minutes off the clock, makes me pissed off and nervous. Awful, just plain awful.

I agree that CB Nelson looked good. Wish he could have come up with that pick.

I think our O might have to score plenty of points early in the season to keep us in games. Especially if we don’t get Mack in here to help the D.

Glad Gruden and our Raiders got the win.

Thought he could have been more consistent.

But its his first game with a big jump in competition.

I am very glad he had some success early. That is important.

He needs to continue that and even improve on it.

I think and hope he will.

Again, getting MACK on the field will help the entire D. And we need that.

Pre season football shouldn’t be judged in wins and losses. Remember the 2006 season in which Raiders went 2-14? They were 5-0 in the pre-season.

That being said, you want to see competent football, with glimpses of how the team will look. Raiders looked competent, especially with players that were previously written off (ex. Cook, Marquel Lee), reserves (Nelson) and rookies (Hall)

I know, it is only one preseason game, but I liked what Chris Warren showed. He may push Doug Martin. I also liked that the tackling seemed to be better–remember when last year’s staff kept talking about “coaching up” tackling? The defense looked better (scheme and coaching, maybe??) I liked that Connor Cook looked better. Would be nice if he could stick as the backup . . .but will the Raiders keep EJ as a third stringer? I doubt that, but what the heck do I know. It was also nice to see that the return game looked better than last year (not a high bar). Again, I realize that it is only one preseason game, but what I saw was encouraging. Hope we can keep it up.
