Remember all that talk by offensive coordinator Greg Olson about Donald Penn earlier this week? Like most talk from coaches during training camp, the substance can be equated to that of cotton candy. Olson raved about Penn being a “natural” at right offensive tackle. Against the Green Bay Packers, Penn looked out of shape, overmatched
I don’t agree about having Miller at RT and then “ease” his way into LT. This would have stunted Miller’s growth and I’m more concerned about Miller’s development than vet who is likely in his last year like Penn. Flipping Miller back and forth is not optimal.
Penn is out of shape and coming off a major injury. He’s in a new spot. It will take time.
Penn has to spend the next two weeks getting ready. Rams will be an extreme test.
Penn may need some help to start the season until he get acclimated to RT. No shame in having a TE on his side or a RB willing to chip.
Penn is no spring chicken and OL are suck in their ways. Penn is a LT being told to change his ways. There was no option for him. No matter what the coaches say.
I have said it over and over again, Conley has to prove he can produce and stay healthy.
Gruden keeps saying nothing is being given to players. Obi was given walking papers.
*stuck in their ways.
Penn’s right foot is post-surgery, and is the inside foot for a LT with all the weight on it. Is not moving Penn to RT also best for his body at this point? You should include this fact in the calculation of who plays where
He just doesn’t look healthy? Besides weight and fitness? All the footage I’ve seen of him just walking around features a noticeable limp. This doesn’t bode well.
