Bill, everyone is saying “pay the man”

I get it. However, did anyone step back and take a deep breath about the Raiders having more than 40% of their cap invested in two players (Carr making $25M and Mack making roughly $23M, for example)?

What would that do to Raiders ability to sign and retain key players going forward?

Everyone says “oh boy, Mack not being signed will send a message to other players” Yes, but what’s the message being sent if team is not competitive due to being hamstrung by significant payroll invested in two players?

Raiders have to think long term, like a chess match. Make one move, and it either facilitates or inhibits your ability to make future moves. Strategy.
