The Raiders travel to Seattle for their final exhibition game, against the Seahawks, in a contest that doesn’t mean much to players such as quarterback Derek Carr, running back Marshawn Lynch and holdout defensive end Khalil Mack. For many others on the Raiders 90-man roster, the game represents one final shot at showing head coach
Interesting roster project but for what it’s worth, you have Marquel Lee listed twice at LB.
Thanks, Casey. Nice catch. Or, perhaps I just think that highly of Marquel. After all, he has had a nice camp.
Good initial roster projection. I dont know if they need that many edge rushers. But your fresh bodies theory makes sense if Mack isnt around. I think Silberman or Ware could also make the roster over Kirkland. Id be surprised if Reggie Nelson wasnt on the roster.
And I could be off, but Im counting 51 total on your projected roster after Casey T pointed out Marquel Lee listed twice. So Harris could still make it.
I am surprised about your cut of Silberman. Isn’t he another lineman who can play multiple positions? Having two of those on the roster may be helpful.
I think you are really close on this one Cork.
I am not sure Edwards Jr makes the team at this point.
That leaves one spot open in case we have to keep Nugent around for a week or two while Pineiro deals with the hammy issue.
Gruden has talked up the S Harris. I could see him taking a spot too.
I can still see Gruden cutting WR Roberts too. Not willing to rule that out.
Thanks, Philip. There always are a few surprises, including a trade here and there, an injury that wasn’t announced, a player that they want to stash on IR, etc. Overall, there’s still a handful of players on the bubble, as you mentioned in Roberts. Harris and Nugent might find their way on the opening-game roster, yes.
Bye bye Mario…
