Your Oakland Raiders were in the news a lot Friday as they set up their 53-man roster. There will be a lot of comings and goings this weekend. All NFL teams must have their initial 53-man man roster set by 1 p.m. Pacific time Saturday. Cuts will trickle in before the Raiders announce the cuts

Hi Bill-Hope you have a great Labor Day weekend.

    A few thoughts:

Very unlikely the Raiders will obtain a pick any higher than 4th-5th round for Edwards. Teams will just wait for him to be cut.

If Raiders trade Mack, they will likely get first round picks that are lower in the round. For example, the Packers, who have two first round picks (their own, and the Saints), will likely not have first round picks that are in the top 10 next year. Thus, the opportunity to get an elite player is lower.

The “floor” has been set for Mack, given Donald’s contract. The Raiders and Mack’s agent now have the Donald contract to work off of. How about $140M for 6 years, $90M guaranteed, $45M signing bonus for Mack? I would communicate to Mack’s agent that Mack’s dollars gets a significant increase starting in 2 years due to lack of a Nevada income tax. I would push more of the guaranteed money into 2020 and beyond, given the lack of state income tax.

Trading Mack will be a huge mistake! 2 first rounders would be good for a team that can actually draft in the first round not us…I don’t understand, I get the money thing, but otherwise this is stupid
