I’m not huge on preseason depth charts. I pay zero attention to the first one teams release early in training camp. But it would be shortsighted not to put, at least, some stock into today’s release. Here is the depth chart the Raiders released Tuesday. With the regular season just six days away, this is

As we saw with the Eagles, depth in the NFL is critical. One, if not several, of the starters will go down with an injury.

Raiders have little depth in many areas. My biggest concern is whether Penn will hold up. He’s coming off a major injury and could easily reinjure the foot.

I’m also concerned with Lynch. He’s up in age and he doesn’t shy away from contact.

    Lots of areas of concern.

Last year we ranked 23rd in overall defense. So at least from that stat I dont think we will be a whole lot worse. I just read a super interesting article by Steven Ruiz ‘For The Win’ on USA Today stating the case for why trading Mack was the smart thing to do. Well written article and I highly recommend reading it.
