Its Draft Eve.
“Twas the night before the Draft when all through the Raiders house
Not a big Board was stirring, not even Chuckys mouse
The picture of Quinnen Williams was hung by the phone with his Alabama jersey on the floor
In hopes that he soon he would be there for the Raiders to pick at four”
It’s been a LONG 8 months of draft talk and speculation. We are on the precipice of the draft. We will see shortly what Gruden and Mayock have been thinking. As you mentioned Bill, Raiders need IMPACT players.
Due to years of draft disappointment, I’m expecting the worse since there’s no where to go but up; and exceed low expectations.
Thank goodness! The draft is finally upon us!! Thank you, Bill and Cork, for keeping us company and informed during this silly time. Always good to talk Raiders with you and the posters on here–feels like a community.
I do have to say that the AFC West got tougher with their pass rush other than the Raiders. Raiders pass rush got worse. Need to get to the QB and getting to Carr causes him all kinds of issues.
I am with Ghost and am not too optimistic about this draft. Hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.
Raiders need to get more picks in the second/third rounds to get some quality players. Gruden needs to be patient and prudent (not his strong suit as far as I can tell) and Mayock needs to temper Gruden’s impulses. If that happens, then the draft may turn out pretty good.
