Raiders coach Jon Gruden talks up so many players that it’s hard to keep track, or to take seriously. Yet, it’s clear that he nailed the decision to keep unproven tight end Darren Waller over veteran Jared Cook this offseason. Cook was fresh from a season in which he posted career-highs in receptions, yards and
Solid article! But if I hear the Amari Cooper focal point reference one more time, I’ll wanna throw-up. Been to the well too many times with that one.
Now in our 4th week of games, its likely the opposing D coordinators will start trying to take away Waller. I want to wait and see what happens if that is the case.
Don’t get me wrong, I hope Waller sets all sorts of records and helps us win several games down the stretch. But I want to see if he and Carr can still be productive together when specifically schemed against.

I like giving feedback to Steve. Every once and a great while I think of something Steve might not have, a different take on a subject. He has also done stories on questions or feedback I have given him. And I love it when I can give him a story idea.
Lastly, we know that Steve reads the posts and comments back, and that is part of what I expect and appreciate about this particular site.
Waller is trending to be All Pro or at least be named to the Pro Bowl at this pace
Still early for Waller, but so far so good. Nice to see something seemingly to work out for the team. He’s such a great story in turning his life around and working hard to loosen the grip of addiction on him. Hard not to root for him. He made some tough catches last week. Very athletic.
