Given what’s known about the NFL season to date, the Raiders beat the teams that they should beat, lose to the ones you would expect and are a toss-up in games against teams with comparable talent. That counts as quite an upgrade over last season. Last season, it became apparent early on with losses to

I sure hope our Raiders can rattle off wins.

I am always leery of Thursday games. For so long it seemed as though one team showed up to play and the other just could not make the turnaround in 4 days. Much like with England, I am curious to know which Raider team shows up.

As for the Lions game, the crowd should be ready to go, Gruden and company need to get our Raiders going early and not let up.

    Just win baby!

Let’s pump the breaks on playoff talk, or “rattling off wins.”

Until the defense is moderately competent, I expect the Raiders to struggle. 30th in defense is not going to cut it unless offense scores at least 30 points every game; and that’s not realistic.

Agree. We’re not a playoff team with this defense. Each game will be a challenge unless or until we see improvements on that side of the ball.

Yeah, I am catiously optimistic, but that defense makes me wonder if “rattling off wins” is possible. Stafford will not let the secondary off too easy. Also, in the recent past this team has not played very well in prime time games (except Thursday night ones against KC in Oakland). Rivers has a way of making our defenses look even more suspect than it is.
