The final member of Oakland’s draft class to play a regular-season game, cornerback Isaiah Johnson, was activated from the injured-reserve list Monday after spending nearly three months recovering from a concussion and facial fracture. Johnson’s activation prompted the Raiders cutting veteran linebacker Brandon Marshall, who was signed last week as in insurance policy because the
I give a ton of credit to Worley for that pick, but other than that one great play he has done little else to stand out this season.
I wonder if Marshall will again be re-signed as I think Key might be headed to IR, read that somewhere. Though I have to wonder why he was not playing last Sunday.
I too liked Johnson coming out of college. It might take him a little longer to prove himself as he is still making the change from WR to CB, but he has huge upside and I cant wait to see him.
Not why we are carrying so many DBs and so few LBs (and now DEs)? Cut Nevin Lawson (who was terrible against DET) and bring in another front-7 player.
Funny, how many of us thought that Worley and Conley were going to be the CBs of this team for quite a while. Then, many thought that Mullen would eventually surpass Worley and it would be Mullen and Conley as the team’s CBs.
I agree with Assassin, puzzled as to why the team would cut Marshall when it needs LBs badly. Key’s broken foot may mean that Marshall comes back (as ThankAVet muses).
Obviously Marshall can’t cut it. They even played Will Compton over him when they had the chance.
