Raiders head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock struck gold when they used a first-round draft pick on running back Josh Jacobs this past April. It’s a safe bet that they are planning to use one of their two 2020 first-round draft picks on another Alabama player. That player figures to be one

Cee dee lamb or Ruggs, my top two choices. Judey will be gone before the raiders pick.

Agreed on Jeudy. He probably will be a top-10 pick. Outside shot at getting him with the pick the Raiders are getting from the Bears in the Mack trade.

If the Raiders are going to draft another WR from Alabama, can the team make sure that his skills will fit what the Raiders are doing? No repeat of Amari Cooper, please.

      +1

Though I doubt that will be an issue for Gruden and Mayock. Cooper was picked prior to both of them getting here.

Wouldn’t it be something if we managed to get 2 of the Bama WRs?

I have to believe that Gruden and Mayock were also watching several other players in that game too. Auburn DT Brown, DE Davidson, Bama OLB/DEs Jennings and Lewis along with CB Diggs and others.

Much like from last years National Championship game, there are riches to be mined from both teams.

I would like to see us pick up USC WR Pittman and MN WR Johnson later in the draft. Though we have a ton of needs elsewhere.

Cork, do you have any idea what we might get for comp picks if any?

I’ll break that down later. In short, it’s based upon a formula that computes a team’s net loss of free agents vs. net gain from the previous season, along with a few other factors. So, given the Raiders lost tight end Jared Cook and not much else, off the top of my head, it’s unlikely that they will get any comp picks back. Again, this is off the top of my head. Stay tuned.

Not only is a WR from Alabama in play, but also the top flight LB Dylan Moses. Moses was injured this season due to a torn ACL, but he was expected to be the top LB in next year’s draft.

If his medicals check out, I wouldn’t be surprised if Raiders take Moses given needs at LB.

We have had that need for so many years now. Have to wonder if we will bring back Burfict just to try and spite the league along with having him help teach a young MLB, if we draft one.

Just for the sake of it, I wonder if the jets are doing this week what we did last week, not show up for the game. Bengals are up 22-6 at the moment. That tells me that things could get very ugly by the time the season ends. I am hopeful our Raiders took it personally and kick some ass in kc today.

Why exactly is it that Carr feels it is appropriate to throw into triple coverage? The int was essentially that, a LB and CB under and S over who cut under to make the pic. WTF.

And now at least Richard can give some solace to Davis after losing his return job in prior years.

Terrible, horrible and disgusting start to this game.

There is no way we come back and win this game when the refs are only calling penalties against one team, ours.

That “holding” call against Lawson was pure drive extending BS!

Gruden takes a QB in the draft this year unless he signs a vet QB who is a proven playoff winner.

Chris and Andy, do you guys think we hear about a nagging injury Carr has had after the season, something that was never talked about or put on the injury report?

I wouldn’t be surprised but i wouldn’t believe it if we did…. it would have to be a remarkably selective injury which reacts to pressure on the game and temperature to impact performance. What part of the body would that be an injury to?

If Tua is there in the teens, I almost guarantee Gruden takes him AND signs a proven vet who has won playoff games, parting ways with Carr. If Brees somehow becomes available, I can see Gruden paying him north of 30 mil for a couple years while Tua learns.

Gruden can say whatever he wants about supporting Carr and how good he can be. Gruden will not tolerate a QB that does not protect the ball. Carr’s leadership, or lack there of, is an issue too. Gruden also wants a QB who will stand up and call players out for screwing up, something I have yet to hear Carr being willing to do.

Carr has compiled some very good stats against some very shitty teams.

He needs to start beating coverages and winning games against good teams.

Other than Jacobs, who can be considered our best player, the O sux, the D sux and the STs is sickening other than the one great punt by Cole with Riley downing it at the 1.

I seem to recall Seabass missing one when he slipped that might have been something close to that. But a regular one, no.

I was so happy when we got Carlson, I wanted to draft him, he was that good in college, has a younger brother with his job now at Auburn. Some guys just cant take the pressure in the nfl, I am thinking that is the case with him. At a minimum he will have competition in camp even if he does well for the rest of the season.

QB, #1 and 2 WR & backup RB are all ? at this point.

A dominant DT and another pass rusher or two are needed. A starting CB and N CB along with all three LB spots need upgrades also. The S spot opposite Abram should get an upgrade too.

Even the O line is starting to regress imo. But hopefully we can get healthy there for next season. Rumors are that we want Incognito back and that is fine with me. But they need to get back to their dominant selves before the end of the year too.

And we now need a kicker for competition at least.

Good thing we are set at TE and seem to have a top notch RB and FB.

Real horror show of a game in most phases except the running game. The final nail in the coffin for DC as our QB for me…. he just can’t lead the team in the places and games we really need to win. He has played as well as he can and really seems to love the team but frankly is just not good enough to lead the team for $25m+ a year. Time to move on…. by the way, do we have any receivers in the team at the moment to even help DC a little bit?

Gruden is tired of giving up late picks for WRs who need to be taught his O and even when they are, they are not productive.

Second week in a row wear the entire left side of the field has been wide open for Carr to run in a TD. There is so much space there, Manning could have run one in without being touched. WTF is he thinking.

And now cbs turned off our game and has moved to sd vs den. What the f does that say about us?

Two weeks in a row and we as raiders fans have to stomach another shit show. My faith in carr is wandering at the moment, might help if he had a receiver that wanted to get open. It almost seems like I’ve been watching amari cooper clones out there only going half ass. Besides Waller and the tight ends it doesn’t look like the receivers even care. I’m so disappointed right now! Sickening performance today.

I love my Raiders. Always will.

But I have said before that I am done supporting (buying jerseys and stuff) until the product on the field is better. I would have purchased a Jacobs jersey by now normally. Moreau too. My wife still loves her Romanowski jerseys but would have bought her an Incognito if he re-signs. Not to mention all the tshirts that help fill my closet.

Winning SBs matters to me. But we are not even competitive at this point and I am not supporting that.

All that said, Just Win next week Baby!

I did just get a waller jersey from my wife and I’m pretty happy about that, but your right vet disappointed to be embarrassed two weeks in a row. I live in the northwest and always rock my raiders gear in enemy territory and always will. On the bright side of things no one even expected us to win 6 games this year at all so I believe we’re on the right path. I’m still a carr believer but he needs to show up in these big games and he didn’t today. There’s only one nation!!!! We will get back to dominance!!!!!

Yes, very disappointing. That’s two weeks in a row where we’ve played poorly. This is just a reminder that the team is what it is: a very young team in the midst of a tear-down and rebuild. We are further along than expected, thanks to a great draft class. While disappointing, we shouldn’t be surprised…and more importantly, not throwing in the towel. It’s not time to dump Carr or fire everybody. It’s time to stay the course. Stick to the plan. Stability is key. Fans need to be patient and not overreact. This team will grow and mature and become better with each game, win or lose. The wins will come, and will be all the sweeter for those who’ve been on the long journey of ups and downs to get there. The team is finally headed in the right direction.

The last two weeks this team has done everything other than head in the right direction.

Again I go back to the Gruden presser, “we want to win now” Well……..

I have been asked my expectations for this team, look across the bay at what the whiners are doing. I expect us to win!

I don’t disagree. I have high expectations as well. The Niners under Kyle are a year ahead of us in their buildout, and a lot can change in a year. Just look at where they were when Kyle and Lynch took over: 2017 6-10; 2018 4-12; compare that to year three: 2019 10-2…

Do we have holes to fill and problems to fix? Sure. But so did the 4-12 Niners. We’re set up with draft picks and cap space to make that next leap just as they have done. The front office has the Raiders headed in the right direction, despite the setbacks this year. We’re well ahead of expectations. And yes, every coach will say they want to win now…they’d be foolish not to. But reality can dictate otherwise.

All I’m saying is, doing this right requires patience. And I see things being done right, so I’m willing to be patient. Now, if we digress in year three, then we’ll know something’s not right and we should raise the red flag. But it’s too soon for that now.

I too hope we are much better next season especially the first year in a new stadium and city.

Raider fans deserve better than what we have had the past two weeks. Its not just about losing, its about the way we do it. The night and day difference in this team from week to week should be fixed by now, even with some of the lack of talent we have.

Patience, yes, absolutely. Most of us have waited for our team to become relevant again since 2003. 12 points over the last two games along with barely beating an 0-10 team and yesterday being a “primetime” game for the entire league to watch was completely unacceptable in every possible way.

As you say, next year better be a big improvement.

Yea, some pretty big eggs laid the last two weeks. Big stage no-shows. We know they’re better than they played. Hard to know exactly why they failed to show up when it mattered most. Inexperience? Coaching? Lack of talent? Lack of discipline? Probably some of each. Clearly, we’re not good enough to run with the big boys yet.
