Head coach Jon Gruden makes no secret about how he and general manager Mike Mayock are in a pitched fight to catch the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. That two-year quest gained some traction this season, even if the Chiefs’ convincing victory Sunday in the AFC Championship Game might suggest otherwise. The easiest,

It’s tough to think the Raiders will face Mahomes 30 times in the next 15 or so years. Mahomes is elite and all the Chiefs need to do is build a competent defense around him.

The Raiders need to improve the defense dramatically otherwise Mahomes will make quick work of the defense (“like a warm knife through butter”).

Carr is not elite, so it’s incumbent for the Raiders to find a better QB than Carr in order to go toe to toe with the Chiefs. Might not be this year but they need to keep looking to upgrade.

I was depressed enough thinking Mahomes might go another ten years in a separate post…15, though… wow!
Looking at KC they had an efficient passer but traded to get a mobile new style highlight reel QB from an explosive college offense…. wonder whether other teams with “efficient (limited) passers are watching and learning? Tough to find another Mahomes, though, guy is simply jaw dropping when he starts to light it up and he is a real leader to match superlative talent. John Dorsey, take a bow for picking this toy for Coach Reid to build an offense to play around.
Real dilemma now… who to root for in a SB matchup between SF & KC?!

Once the Muppet of KC gets his 43 million a year that will change the roster. I dont think he will last 15 years running QBs have a short life in the nfl see Cam. KC has four WR better had any of the Raiders WR. The Raiders need a QB killer someone that can get to the new style of QB and hit them hard when they run. I was around for Elway he was a top 10 all time QB that because he played a long time at a high level. We will see with Mahomes he is the MVP this year.

Jones would be a big addition to our D line. Of course there is the cost issue.

People ask me my expectations of our Raiders for next season. The two teams now headed to the SB are it. Ok, maybe we get to the championship game next year and then win the SB the following year.

Gruden has made it clear he wants to win and move forward at the same time. He has had two years to figure out if Carr is the QB to bring us titles. Count me as being tired of the maybe, well we will see or the I am not looking that far forward crap. Make a decision and go with it. There is no more RM to blame. This is the third year and a big jump forward is expected. Like it or not.

Franchises who draft well and pick up key FAs win in this league. Gruden and Mayock have started a good run thus far. Now it needs to continue. Playoffs should be the minimum expectation this year.
