Envisioning the Raiders beating the Kansas City Chiefs or 49ers anytime soon might be tough to do as those teams play for the Super Bowl title, but things change fast in the NFL. There are tried-and-true ways for the Raiders to bring about change even quicker. Chief among them, raid the roster of the 49ers
As with the Pats free agents and releases, I’d be a bit wary of any from the Chiefs or Niners. I think coaching and scheme may inflate their players’ ability (and asking price). Can our coaching staff do the same? Do any of these players fit the Raiders scheme? Maybe Juszczyk who is unlikely to actually hit the market.
Jones can be a force inside for sure. He gets to the QB and disrupts the pocket allowing others, hopefull Maxx and Ferrell, to get to and bring the QB down. I think he is the one player on this list, regardless of scheme, who would help any team up the middle, where many teams have that need. It will take a large sum to get him signed, but again, as Mayock said, the tax situation should only help us signing FAs.
If as Steve says the snaps for each can be plentiful, I am ok with bringing another FB in. But I don’t want to lose our good/great, and inexpensive, FB to do it. I see Ingold as a top FB in the coming seasons. Ingold earned that job last year and should do nothing but get better moving forward.
Juszczyk AND Ingold? No way. That’s way too much invested in the fullback position. Raiders need depth in other positions.
Chris Jones would be a terrific addition in a position of need. Asking price might be too much.
Remember Al signing Desmond Howard after he was Super Bowl MVP, and Cowboys CB Larry Brown after his Super Bowl MVP. Neither did much with Raiders.
Like Ghost, I would be wary of signing FAs from either the Chiefs or Niners. Al signing Howard and Brown after their MVP performances made for a headline splash, but that was as good as it got. Brown flamed out quite fast.
Another player I’d put on the “might cost too much” list is WR Robby Anderson from the Jets. His expected asking price is $14+M. With a very deep receiver class in the coming draft, it would make better sense to draft that player. And, with his former coach, Matt Rhule, with the Panthers, they may also have an interest in him.
Raiders expected to pursue Brady….

Raiders are poised to pursue quarterback Tom Brady if he doesn’t re-sign with the Patriots before free agency begins, league sources told ESPN.
Oh, dear lawd, please no!
Any thoughts on Aldon Smith? Rumor has it he is sober and in shape. Still somewhat young. Not sure he would be worth the potential headache, especially in Vegas, but thought I’d throw it out there since this is the silly season!
Gruden learned from the best Al always had the media talking about the Eaiders during SB week. Tommy tuck is 43 but u never know

Raiders that is double post not good fat thumbs
And, if it’s true, it’ll take a sizable chunk of that cap space too. The larger question, though, is whether Gruden would let Brady run the offense much like how Peyton Manning ran Denver’s offense? I don’t know if that would happen. Also, if it’s true, Gruden better find receivers who don’t drop passes.
Didn’t Al call Schefter a “paid liar” one time???
Especially when it came to Shanarat.
Cut Gabe Jackson and Tahir Whitehead, you free up the difference between Carr’s contract and Brady’s.
Brady would infuse toughness, leadership and will to win in a young roster. Draft a young QB to learn from him. Brady wouldn’t be intimidated in Arrowhead.
What? Keep building around Carr? What’s the definition of insanity, keep doing the same thing and expect different results?
