By now, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr shouldn’t be surprised by yet another report that head coach Jon Gruden is interested in someone else to guide his offense. At the same time, Carr should be plenty concerned. On Sunday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Gruden and the Raiders intend to pursue New England Patriots quarterback

Carr can’t go toe to toe vs Mahomes. I’m tired of excuses. If only he had a #1 WR. If only he had fairy dust sprinkled on him…

Brady would infuse leadership and toughness in the young team. He wouldn’t throw the ball into the turf on 4th and one. He wouldn’t be intimidated by Arrowhead.

For $70M / 2 year deal you get Brady’s still decent production and the intangibles. Cut Gabe Jackson and Tafir Whitehead and use that to offset the difference between Carr and Brady’s contracts. Draft a young QB and let him learn under Brady.

I don’t think Brady is leaving the Patriots. He is just trying to squeeze every penny he can get out of New England in my opinion. And if he does leave I don’t believe he would give the Raiders serious consideration. I can’t imagine going from being coached by Bill Belichick to a rodeo clown like Gruden. Talk about ruining your own legacy.

Just more self-serving click bait. If anyone truly believes a 42 year old statue is what the Raiders need to get them over the hump, then they’re crazy. Believing that Gruden and Mayock think this is even more hilarious! Apparently there’s nothing else for anyone to write about when it comes to the Raiders.

I agree with Nevin, I can’t see Brady leaving the Pats and Belichek or actually considering playing for the Raiders. At 43, Brady is going to want to be on a team that gets him that next ring not one that always seems to be in tear down and rebuild mode.

How quickly would Brady pick up the ins and outs of Grudens O? His playbook is huge and even top flight QBs can have issues with new or very foreign plays and play calling. All the checks and audibles, Gruden would likely expect him to know all of that immediately.

Oh, and so much for wanting a mobile QB who can pick up first downs or TDs with his legs consistently when a play breaks down or on heavy bootlegs. He is not getting younger or faster.

    This is a bad idea.

Brady is obviously not a long-term answer at QB, but who would you rather have leading the offense in ’20: the greatest QB of all-time who, despite getting old, led his team to the playoffs last year; or a thin-skinned, panicky check-down charlie who has demonstrated through 6 years that he’s just a guy?

Carr over Brady every day of the week. This isn’t Brady in his prime we’re talking about; it’s 42 year old statue Brady. The only reason Brady is still successful is that he’s been in the same system for 20 yrs. Take him out of it now and he won’t be the same. This is an easy pass.
