One of the reasons head coach Jon Gruden traded defensive end Khalil Mack and wide receiver Amari Cooper was to acquire additional draft picks, which gave the Raiders more flexibility in terms of what they can do in the first round of last year and this year’s draft. Last year, Gruden parlayed part of the

I understand trading the 12 and 19 for a quarterback but, Queen or Murry and a legit receiver or stud DL sounds really good too, If Mayock and Gruden think they have an attainable chance at an upgrade at QB, they should make the move. I believe Carr can get the job done with a better team around him but, I don’t hold a smidgen of the football knowledge of Mayock or Gruden.

Of course it sounds good. But, it makes sense only if Gruden is sold on Derek Carr as his franchise quarterback. He is not, so that’s why you trade up for a quarterback. Nothing else matters if you don’t have a clear-cut stud at quarterback.

The ironic thing about last year’s draft vis a vis the trades of Mack and Cooper is that had the Raiders kept Mack, they probably still get Jacobs and Abram, and wouldn’t have needed to draft Ferrell (and would still have a second round pick this year). I wouldn’t mind seeing Simmons in Silver and Black or Tua. As everyone knows, there is virtually no chance that Burrows is not the Number 1 choice.

I think it more likely that the Raiders move back from either 12 or 19 to get a second round pick.

What a great point, Michelle, about if Gruden would have kept Mack. Well done.

If we had taken DE Josh Allen or MLB Devin White its very possible that we would not have a question at one of those spots. But we did not take them and we do have questions at both spots. Again, I hope Ferrell will have that huge jump this season.

As much as I would love to get Simmons, we have so many needs. Keeping 12 & 19 could allow us to get a #1 WR and a true, never comes off the field, MLB.

I agree with Michelle, its more likely we trade back instead of up.

After last years pick of Ferrell, I can see Mayock wanting Kinlaw. His story and demeanor fits with what Mayock wants.

You only trade up for a non-QB if you have a QB that you consider elite or your future. Carr does not meet that criteria.

Raiders should only trade up for a QB. That would be Tua and maybe Love.
