Jon Gruden wanted more “alphas” on the Las Vegas Raiders defense, and thus, it was no surprise to see the team quickly secure the services of Nick Kwiatkoski.
The former Chicago Bear will head to the desert and bring an instinctive and active presence at linebacker for a team absent of such since the league shelved Vontaze Burfict.
Faster than his 4.73 40-yard dash time speed suggests, the soon-to-be 27-year-old’s instincts allow him to read and diagnose quickly. That’s a trait that should transition well to the Raiders’ scheme helmed by defensive coordinator Paul Guenther.
Thrust into a starting role at middle linebacker due to injury, Kwiatkoski finished with 76 total tackles, three sacks and an interception. He proved more than serviceable in coverage and his aggressiveness paid dividends for the Bears.
Check out the clip below to see the type of plays Kwiatkoski has made and continue making in Silver & Black:
I want to see him in our D before praising this, it has been a lack of talent, but it is also questionable coaching.
We also need a lot more help around our new LB.

Missing out on several FAs today does not help. It would be fabulous to get Littleton here.
Underrated FA from Bears
Good signing!
