The Raiders wasted little time making their initial move in free agency, as they pounced on former Chicago Bears linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski in the first step toward rebuilding their dismantled linebacking corps. Kwiatkoski, who turns 27 in late May, started 22 games during his four seasons with the Bears. It wasn’t until midway last season

This is a really good, potentially great signing for me. This guy can play and lead a defense and is just the type of guy we need in the second line of our D. Figures coming out for the deal look pretty good too. Another one please, Mr Mayock.
Must just say, following the trade for DeAndre Hopkins earlier, I am never going to whine about what we got for Mack ever again: Seriously – Hopkins and a fourth for Johnson and a second – what are the Texans thinking?

Have to wonder if we got a call about Hopkins too? Maybe we should have asked for him with the Conley trade.

I want to see Kwiatkoski stay healthy and be an every down force on D for an entire season. The money is not out of this world and that is a great thing.

I would have to think this is a guy Mayock and Gruden prioritized though.

Sure hope he has more impact than Whitehead!!

At least we are setting the bar nice and low if Whitehead is the measure!!!

Just heard about Cowboys FA CB Jones picking the fins over us.

I guess the speculation about not having to pay tax on LV was not a serious draw for him. Reportedly said he feels the fins are building a winning team and that’s what finally helped make his decision.

Players apparently don’t necessarily always go to the highest bidder, they want to win. Guess our Raiders are not on that list for some FAs.

Got to think it was ALL about the money, whether just more up front, more guaranteed, or just more period. Can’t see any objective view that suggests Dolphins are closer to putting it all together than the Raiders. Could be location as well. LV is the desert, after all.

Maybe it came down to which non Championship contender offered more up front? We are more likely than Miami but not really in any serious conversations to get near the trophy at the moment. Good luck to Jones, if he wanted to be on a contender he would have gone to the Eagles….

Florida has low taxes and Miami is a great city.
