Raiders pick up $6 million in salary-cap space, lose a valuable cornerback

The deal the Raiders worked out with veteran cornerback Eli Apple fell through, according to an ESPN report, which puts them back in the market for help at a position that lacks proven playmakers. The Raiders and Apple had agreed to a one-year contract that would have paid him $6 million next season in free

    Well, this is okay. Though highly regarded coming out college, he didn’t become a lockdown CB many had envisioned he would become. He also developed a lousy attitude when he was with the Giants. The Raiders can certainly use the money on a better player.

      Agreed. The Raiders made out better by losing out on Apple and signing Randall. About to post on that move now.

    Gruden and Guenther are expecting last years pick Johnson, who was hurt most of the season, to compete and be a top backup minimum. This is a guy who has a ton of upside, he just needs to prove it on the field.
