In with the new, out with the … well, someone has to go to accommodate the seven players drafted by Raiders head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock last week. For now, there’s enough room on the Raiders 90-man roster to accommodate all the returning players from last season already under contract, the
I’m still skeptical that Bowden can spell Jacobs. Bowden has a strong lower body but I still wonder about his ability to run between the tackles consistently. Maybe he can, given what he showed at Kentucky. He was running against SEC defenses. But we’ll see.
By the way, prior to the draft on Wednesday, I wrote down my final mock draft. I had Ruggs as the Raiders pick at 12, and hit on Simpson and Robertson later in the draft. I had Terrell at pick 19 but once he was chosen by Atlanta, that prediction was gone. I got 3 of the 7 picks right overall.
Maybe Mayock can call me in the future. Or I should get a life! lol.
Fear not Ghost, Jacobs rushed for like 1200 yards while dealing with a shoulder injury. He will be stronger and more prepared for the rigors of a full season this year. He has had enough experience to know what is required to get his body ready. He was dominant last year and will be even better this year with improved preparation.
Nice work. I also had Terrell slotted at No. 19. A tad surprised he went earlier. Then again, Arnette went waaaaayyyyy early.
Good work Ghost. If that is the case, I have no life either.
I wanted Ruggs badly. I thought we would go a different way, so glad we got him.
I did better last year. Jacobs, Johnson and Moreau are who I had. I also hit on two UDFAs, Ingold and Nixon. Though I was suprised Nixon made the 53 from the get go.
I have a ton of faith in drafting after last years haul. But, Ferrell did not produce they way all of us hoped he would. I dont want to say the same about Arnette. I think we made a big reach for him. However, it is obvious that is the player we coveted. Thinking he would not be there in the 3rd, we took him. Having to trade back into the 2nd round would have taken away at least one more pick, likely more.
As long as health is not an issue, I expect all the draft picks to make the 53. It will be another interesting cut down day.
I see Bryan Edwards as the replacement for Ateman. The other WRs on the chopping block may be tough. The Raiders did throw a ton of money to Doss to get him back. Then, he never really got an opportunity.
I think Doss would’ve gotten more opportunities if he’d shown something in practice.
Hi Matt, you are probably correct, but he showed enough in practice to be lured away from the Jags practice squad. I just was hoping for him to do well: hometown kid, played DII at UC Davis, etc.
