Forgive Jon Gruden if he was overtly ecstatic after the Las Vegas Raiders’ three-day draft affair. It’s only proper considering how he miserably failed to obtain quality wide receiver talent via trades (and sending valuable draft picks for the players that didn’t pan out, at that) the previous two seasons. For about a minute or
No excuses for Carr and the offense. However, I could see the excuse of “due to the pandemic, we didn’t have a lot of time to practice.” Lol
It’s time for the offense not only to get yards, but score in the red zone.
Gruden wants to play smash mouth but he also has to be creative. Since Gruden took over, offense does reasonably well in the 1st half and then grinds to a halt in the 2nd half.
Agree, Ghost, no excuses. Although, I kind of wonder if coaching is part of the problem since, as you note, the second half adjustments from the Raiders were essentially non-existent. Understandably, all of us fans are excited about the potential that these new players appear to have to improve our team, but none of that matters if it does not pan out on the field.
Wins are all that matter right now, especially in a shiny new stadium and a shiny new city.
I sure hope the pandemic does not become an excuse. All of the teams are going through it and dealing with it. Heck, all of us fans are, too!
I agree with you on this, Michelle. Some of the first half adjustments weren’t coming (Vikings game was the perfect example). I would add Gruden would need to call the plays too, to take advantage of new offensive talent.
Agree too (two)! No excuses.
Production and W’s.
My expectations have not diminished. 10-6 and the playoffs. Minimum.
