There was a time when being selected to the Pro Bowl meant something. Now, it seems as if half the players that end up playing in the game aren’t deserving and are there only because others were injured, still playing in the postseason or not interested in partaking in the meaningless game. Yet, astute observers
I’m less interested in Pro Bowl nods than All Pro selections.
Would be terrific to have a Raider on one of the All Pro teams.
That’s a very select team and, as you mentioned, is far more meaningful and prestigious. If we’re talking All-Pro-caliber players, you’re talking Hudson, Incognito and Jacobs as the top three candidates.
Maybe I’ve become cynical but All Pro doesn’t mean as much to me as it used to either. Voted on by writers who in many cases demonstrate very little understanding of the game that isn’t surface level. Many of them demonstrate their biases and occasionally outright ignorance when voting for the HOF.
Just my opinion, and not aimed at you, Steve.
Ingold and Crosby!
