As Raiders head coach Jon Gruden has made clear, finding good pass rushers are hard to find in the NFL. Therefore, if he can get a standout one on the cheap, why not? Any team could use free-agent end Jadeveon Clowney, given his ability to shine against the run and wreak havoc in the backfield

I’ve never liked Clowney, probably a mental block on Mack vs Clowney and I can admit that. Still, I wouldn’t mind getting him on a “prove it” deal, but I can’t see paying him top dollar after giving up Mack and drafting multiple d-lineman (plus signing more) in the past 2yrs. I’m hoping we lowballed Clowney on the hope that if he takes it we win, but also, and maybe more importantly, we let Clelin know that last year wasn’t good enough. Nobody cares that you got drafted 4th, if you don’t produce then we will replace you. I know he got sick and had a rough year, so I haven’t given up yet by a long shot, but I’m okay with letting him know the game doesn’t stop. Production matters, and it’s time to step up.

Agreed. And he was moved inside a lot to help out Kuzz of pj hall production or less of. So he gained weight and bulked up so let’s keep him on the outside and see what he does this year

I don’t see this as an indictment of Ferrell at all. I see it as admitting the obvious; we’re in a division with Mahomes, and you literally cannot have too many pass rushers, period.

Yeah, I am sorta on the side of I don’t see this as an indictment of Ferrell. I’ve probably said this before, but I generally give rookies a pass their first year. They play a full season and then go straight into training for the draft. Then, after being drafted they have to work on trying to assimilate to the NFL and their teams. I actually see it as an indictment of the loss of Mack without having a ready replacement. I also never cared for Clowney. But, until this team finds a replacement for Mack it will cycle through pass rushers every off season.

When they get drafted it’s all, yeah man I’m ready, I can do this and that for the Team. Time to play, not ready at all, some of the guys are close, but close doesn’t get the win. The only pass that counts, is the one that ends with a TUCH DOWN RAIDERS.

I was never sold on Ferrell.

Mediocre measurables. No twitch. I could see that when he was at Clemson and I’m not a scout.

Raiders shouldn’t have singed Nassib if they were confident in Ferrell.

Complete whiff for Mayocks first pick. Ferrell will get sacks but never measure up to overall #4 pick.

I don’t blame Gruden. This tells me that Mayock is the one that passed on Josh Allen to draft Ferrell. I wasn’t sure who actually fkd up that pick. Now it’s clear. If I knew the Raiders were gonna f**k up like that I would’ve begged them to take Josh Allen. Gruden is probably like me saying what if we had drafted Allen like we were supposed to? We would have something that is rare, two 10 sack rookie DE’s. That’s why I’m not giving Mayock the holy grail of drafting players. I mean Mayock has made some great picks thats why you wonder, how in the hell could he f**k this up so royally? I still don’t get. Btw, Josh Allen is only in his second year and he is already better than Clowney.

Yeah, that one pick smacked of Mayock being obsessed by players that play for Clemson and Alabama, the big-time programs. You’re right, though, whiffing on the No. 4 pick — so far, anyway — is a head-scratcher, given that’s the one that everyone expects to be a slam dunk.

Sacks ,I love Qback sacks,as long as it’s not a Raider Qback. However, it takes more than that to win. Step it up Clelin you know you can. Show us what you have this Season.
