What happens if a family member, like Hudson’s wife, comes down with COVID? You can’t put these players in a bubble. The NFL is trying to thread the needle on this, Good luck trying.
What the NFL is trying to pull off is next to impossible. Testing is already atrocious. With BioReference trying to perform tests for the NFL on a 24-hr turnaround and for regular folk is not working. BioReference told the NBA they will be able to turnaround tests in 24 hours – it’s more like 3-4 days. Regular people like us, 7-10 days. In either case, the tests end up being useless.
I seriously don’t see how the teams can ensure the safety of their personnel, players, and other workers at this time. The virus is rising in California, Texas, Arizona, and Florida, so the teams in those states are already at a higher risk. And, don’t think for a moment that only one or two players will get it–it is likely to spread like wildfire through a team. At least with basketball there are less people involved and with baseball there is less contact.
