The initial wave of testing of NFL players to see if they are infected with the coronavirus turned up 59 positives. That works out to an average of two per team. That doesn’t sound like much, unless those players turn out to be a team’s quarterback or elite defender. In the case of the Raiders,

As always, hard to argue with this list, Cork! My question is: how many of these guys, if any, were part of those workouts with Carr in Vegas or any other similar workouts (if any)?

Also, gotta think that the specialists were close to making the list, too since those guys are hard to replace.

Looks as if the group that worked out in recent weeks was mostly wide receivers and tight ends, some running backs. Not sure if any of the offensive linemen attended.

It’s more likely if one player tests positive, the entire team will have to be placed into quarantine. Not those around the infected player’s locker space. There have been cases where a single person has infected an entire room of 90+ persons.

The other thing you can test negative today, positive tomorrow. Then, what happens? Some have even tested positive on one day and died the next.

Until it has been thought out clearly, it is too much of a risk to ask.

Agreed. If one lineman tests positive, do the other lineman have to be placed in quarantine for instance? That’s very likely.

Based upon what we saw today with Juan Soto of the Nationals, that might not be the case. He tested positive, yet his team played a game against the Yankees. Seems rather questionable based upon what we know and have been told to this point, eh? Might be learning as they go.

What would be interesting are the results for DC, MM and Peterman. What happens if all three were to have mixed results – positive and negative? Classify them as asymptomatic? DC has a young family … he surely doesn’t want to drag this home, but already has.

MLB is hoping they have enough physical distancing in the dugouts.

It’s kind of lazy to think that Mariotta would play as good as Carr or better in his first year in the most complex offense in football with no off-season to acclimate. Lets get real on Mariotta. He hasn’t been as good as Carr was last year since 2016. He’s been injury prone, and again, zero reps this off-season in an insanely complex offense. Let’s be clear, playoff hopes rest on DC4s shoulders.
