Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is tired of being disrespected, is he? Well, the criticism isn’t going away anytime soon until he does more than post gaudy stats that too often fail to affect the outcome of games in his team’s favor. Before delving into that, just who is it that Carr feels disrespected by, anyway?
Only a Super Bowl trophy will quiet the incessant drone of discontent. And even then, there will still be something that people find to complain about.
Well, that’s attainable. Carr has said that’s his goal. Go out, make it happen and have the last laugh, eh? Until then, he’s better off collecting his $25 million per season, putting in his work, doing the best he can and letting the results speak for themselves.
Winning will remove most of the criticism. It won’t remove all unless there’s a Championship.
When you lose, you won’t get respect. You win, then you’re relevant and accolades come your way. Very simple.
We average less than 20pts per game for THREE years running. I don’t care how bad the defense is, maybe accidentally score some points sometimes. This guy is a thin-skinned whiner. I used to really like him, but year after year of empty completion percentage stats and no wins have soured me. His devoted following also grates on me – we used to be a “just win baby” fan base, now we seem to be a “bit he threw for 70% completion” fan base. I want to go back to winning.
