Gareon Conley, DJ Hayden, Fabian Washington and Phillip Buchanon. One by one, the cornerbacks selected by the Raiders in the first round arrived to great fanfare, with tremendous promise, only to flame out in a few short seasons. When both Ruggs and Arnette were drafted, and the criticism of Arnette’s speed occurred, I wanted to see both matchup in training camp. Could Arnette “hang” with Ruggs, who has world class speed?

Based on that video I saw, it appears he can. By the way, did anyone do their own time of Arnette? I did. Pull up the Combine video of Arnette and use your your iPhone. Time Arnette yourself. I timed him at 4.46. Playing corner is not just long speed, but ability to flip your hips. That’s why there’s a Combine test on “plant and swivel” for the DBs.

Arnette has a lot of swagger. Dude talks a lot but you need that when playing in the secondary. Abram, Arnette and Mullen are confident.
