Now that teams have to account for all the players under contract and not just the 51 highest-paid, the Raiders find themselves just about out of money. As of now, the Raiders have a few pennies more than $1 million in salary-cap space. Therefore, any subsequent roster moves they make this season are going to

Did Raiders require a physical on Mariota before he signed? Of all the signings and wasted $, that’s the most disappointing.

No doubt. Must have been an injury that he suffered during camp, or made worse in camp.

It was reported today that linebacker Cory Littleton restructured his contract in a manner that freed up almost $9 million in cap room for this season. There you go.

Cork, freeing up that kind of money to create cap space, is there a player that comes to mind about who the Raiders maybe interested in?

Regarding Mariota, I read the Raiders were working with his throwing mechanics. If his stay on IR becomes extended, how confident are they with Peterman as the #2?

Hello, David. With Clowney and other high-profile free agents now signed, there’s likely no one player in Gruden’s sights. It’s just a matter of having the money at the ready for when it’s time to make moves. Make no mistake, the Raiders aren’t through making moves. Also, they can carry over any unused cap space into next season, when cap space will be at a premium. Gruden might be confident with Peterman as the No. 2, but it remains to be seen what he can do long-term if asked to be the starter.
