In a game that harkened back to the 1970s, the Raiders relied upon a relentless rushing attack and a suffocating defense in a resounding victory over the Cleveland Browns. The fact that the Raiders entered the game without starting right offensive tackle Trent Brown and left guard Richie Incognito and running back Josh Jacobs was
Raiders also got a win in the dreaded “East Coast Time Zone” lol.
Wait, if I squinted long enough, I thought I was watching Josh Jacobs impersonating Mark Van Eagan, running behind Upshaw, Shell and Dalby!
I loved the game, since it was in conditions that were not 70 degrees climate controlled on fake carpet. Cold, grass stains and a “W.” Awesome.
Is David Irving going to play soon?
Nice win for the Raiders and that is pretty much the recipe for their success: keep the defense off the field. It was good to see Gruden use Booker earlier and more often to keep Jacobs fresh. Loved seeing Carr actually use his legs to extend plays. I would’ve liked to see a pass attempt when the team was near the goal line. Gruden seems to stubbornly want to use a power formation to jam the ball in the end zone. Oh, and Ruggs got robbed of a TD! I liked the way that Guenther was able to use Abram’s aggressiveness.
I hope Trent Brown is okay and what is up with team training staffs? First, Tyrod Taylor and now Trent Brown.
And a huge thank you to CBS Sports for providing me with a new word. Always good to try to increase my vocabulary! 🙂
