He was the full-time beat writer from 1997-2010. for the Contra Costa Times, Oakland Tribune and San Jose Mercury News and covered more than 400 NFL games, including four Super Bowls. He also is the co-author of a recently released book titled "Al Davis: Behind the Raiders Shield."

    It’s fun to speculate as fans on potential outcomes. But being a Raider fan means getting let down by hope and speculation every year for the last 20+ years. So best to keep head down, take each game as it comes, and take nothing for granted. But then, where’s the fun in that?

    Playoffs, baby!!! 😁

    Agree with Matt, if we’ve not learned anything as fans, nothing is certain. The KC game and the TB game shows us that this team can win most of these games or lose most of them. The way this team fell on its face last year despite being mathematically alive in the playoffs for several weeks is hopefully something this team learned from and will improve upon.
