As the leader and franchise quarterback, Derek Carr has earned the right to have a sharp critique of the 43-6 dud loss his Las Vegas Raiders took against the Atlanta Falcons this past Sunday. “Our fans deserve better than what we did today, our organization deserves better than we put out today,” he said at
The mixed messages there just shows where this team is likely headed. Mentally weak team with a complete lack of leadership and accountability. And it all starts with the $100 million man. This article makes my blood boil, because it seems to truly show how soft and unfocused they are. Who is leading this freaking team anyway?
Agree with you there, Nevin. Lots of mixed messages being sent. Last year, it was frustrating to watch the team lose when it still had a chance to make the playoffs. I understand this is one game, but it doesn’t sound to me like there are any leaders on the team who will get in players’ faces to motivate them. In reading the statements quoted, it sounds to me like maybe Carr had a flat week of practice?
Oh, and it was the *way* the team lost that worries me. It wasn’t one where the team played so poorly that it allowed Atlanta to hang around for too long and Atlanta “stole” one from the Raiders. Don’t get me wrong had the team lost in that way, I would still be upset, but I’d be more likely to be confident that this was “one game” and I could “move on.”
It’s one game. Move on.
Agreed on to NY Jets. More writing like I see on Tweeter come up with something I have no read before snakepit
We can all hope this “it’s only one game” actually becomes true for the first time. Because that hasn’t been remotely true since 2017. But here’s hoping it does.
Thank you Matt. Come on people!!!
One game?!
We’ve been moving on like this quite a few times since the $100 million man took over:
– They’ve lost by 30+ FIVE times in the last 2.5 seasons.
– Lost by 20+ TEN times.
Those are scary stats.
As pointed out by ESPN’s Jason McCallum:
“The @Raiders had 11 penalties, 141 penalty yards, 5 turnovers, were sacked 5 times and allowed 43 points.
Since 1940, no NFL team had hit those thresholds in a single game.
This was literally an historically inept game put forth in a game that needed to be won. Gross.”
