For a team smarting from a 43-6 shellacking at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons, one might think the Raiders would welcome the prospect of facing a winless New York Jets team. In private, perhaps. But for public consumption, the Raiders are going out of their way to heap praise upon the Jets, their defense

    Huge game.

In fact, if Raiders just squeak by the Jets, it will be a significant downer. Raiders need to take it to the Jets. No excuses.

I’m not concerned about the Raiders taking the Jets lightly. I honestly don’t think that’s the concern. The concern is the Raiders own confidence level and whether they are starting to question themselves. This same scenario has played out almost yearly since 2017, and each time it went downhill when it got to that point.

Do the Raiders truly believe in themselves? I think the answer to that will become much clearer after the game on Sunday.

My fear for this game is that the Jets are due for a win at some point. Given the way this Raiders team has played in the past after a shellacking like they took in Atlanta, I am a bit concerned. The team needs to win and win convincingly to try to get some momentum back (IMO). I want to see the determined team we saw in the loss to KC, not the resigned team we saw in Atlanta.
