Site is back up. Still can’t read any articles.
What are you seeing, Matt, when you arrive at the site? Anyone else having any issues?
Still have no access to articles. Same experience as my comment below.
Articles fade to a white box that says: “ You must upgrade your account to read the rest of this content.”
Clicking on it takes me to the subscription page to sign up as a new subscriber. Then I received an email via PayPal that my automatic payment to Redescribe LLC has been changed. None of these things were prompted by me. So I cut it off thinking I may have been hacked.
Ah, sorry about the confusion, Matt. See if you can change it back. The charge was legit, it just didn’t make it clear. I always can change it back manually, too. Keep me posted. Thanks.
I got messages all day yesterday that the site was unexpectedly closing, every time I tried to open. Never even got through to the home page.
All back to normal today, Steve, but thought you might like to know the full range of problems/scenarios.
Cheers all….
Thanks, Andy. That was a result of the site name needing to be renewed. Without warning, the domain name owner shut down the site because we were unaware of the renewal. Once we figured it out, the domain name was extended. Should be back to normal. Thanks for the heads-up, Andy.
When the site was down, I had the error page indicating it was unable to connect, recheck your internet connections. On the isitdownrightnow.com site, they reported the site was down, indicating a technical issue. So, this is what was being observed also.
Steve, we all know that upgrades cause problems beyond your control as the IT wizards press their buttons and cross their fingers!
In future, would you or Ray be able to post a warning the day before an upgrade so we all know that, if we have a problem, it’s just going to be a temporary thing before we get back to normal?
Cheers
You betcha. In this case, however, we had no warning. It took almost 24 hours to figure out where the problem was coming from. Turned out to be a simple fix, thank goodness.
Nightmare… these things cause enough trouble when they’re planned!
Glad the site is back up!
For some.
Did you allow the renewal charge to go through, Matt? If not, that’s probably the issue. I’ll go check right now. Stay tuned.
