Derek Carr is fresh from perhaps the best season of his seven-year NFL career and should be able to enjoy a distraction-free offseason for the first time in awhile. That’s not going to be the case, as usual. On Sunday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that it appears as if Houston Texans disgruntled quarterback Deshaun

I think you have to explore each and every move that you think will make your team better.
Gruden has not been scared to do that, in trades or FA, although the judgement has often appeared to be questionable at least.
In this case, I think it would be hard to argue that Watson would be an upgrade at QB for us.
This is not me just having another shot at Carr, just because I can. I think on any objective measure, Watson is the better player and would move us up in the red hot AFC West offensive stakes.
So, yes, I hope that the Raiders are interested and will be speaking with the Texans if a possible trade materialises.
That said, we still also have a ton of needs on the D and OL to address so it’s all going to need some careful juggling – mind you if our track record on building a defense continues, it might be worth trading the house for Watson so we can tool up at QB to get into some proper shoot-outs!
Final thought – any chance we could do a package deal for Watson and JJ Watt together?

Oh, one more thought just occurred: if Watson does go for a trade, a very interested party would no doubt be Mr Ed and the Broncos…. would we not want to stop the possibility of having to face all of Mahomes, Herbert and Watson twice a year each for the next ten years or so?
      Not a nice thought….sorry folks!

Massive capital to get Watson while needed resources are in line for the defense. I doubt trading Carr and only #1 would do it. It would likely take more than that.

I like Deshaun Watson, but if the team is ready to move on from Carr, why not see if Mariota can pick up the reins of the offense? He’s had a year to learn the system. He’s athletic, so he adds a different dimension to the offense. That’s not to say that Carr is not athletic, he just does not seem as willing to use his legs to make plays like Mariota.

Same old crap new year. Locked on Raiders podcast talked to the best beat writer in football John McClain he said no way they trade. Do u even understand Grudens offense. I think we need a guy that can hit the QB. Running qbs must be hit see the Muppet of KC
