Todd Bowles did the unthinkable. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator kept Patrick Mahomes and the vaunted Kansas City Chiefs offense out of the end zone — for an entire football game. In Super Bowl LV, no less. Bowles’ ferocious and merciless Bucs defense relied on front-four supremacy, without the reliance on heavy blitz packages
Every team will copy Bucs game plan, or attempt to copy. However, you need the talent to implement.
For instance, do you have the talent in your defensive line to only rush 4? If not, you need to blitz which is very risky. Raiders currently don’t have enough talent in their DL to rush 4 players.
In addition, you need talent in your secondary. The Raiders secondary ranks near the bottom.
Schemes are nice, but players make the scheme. Raiders need more talent on their defense.
