Jon Gruden has plenty of uncontrollable urges, but his affinity for signing aging wide receivers is at or near the top of the list. Therefore, it won’t be long before DeSean Jackson is linked to the Raiders. Jackson, who turns 35 in December, at full health is a player the Raiders could use. There’s the

OMG, a 35 year old WR? Absolutely not.

Witten looked feeble last year. Enough of old skill position players.

Just re-sign Nelson Agholor. If Agholor signs somewhere else and Curtis Samuel is available, sign Samuel. Though not a WR 1, he is still an excellent receiver and only 24.

Also, what about trading for Odell Beckham Jr.? If the price is right, that would be a very worthy gamble? Agholor and Beckham Jr. as the starters, with Ruggs III, Edwards and Renfrow the Nos. 3-5? Not bad, eh?

Didn’t think about OBJ. I would agree if the price of OBJ is right, it’s worth a gamble and would make for a very intriguing receiver room. Being in Vegas has to be a certain attractant, besides the taxes.

With such a bad defense that sorely needs every dollar available to fix, why even bother talking about WR’s? WR corps pale in comparison as an area of concern, even if Agholor leaves. Edwards, who in 2020 lost the starting job because of injury and has been completely underutilized once he came back, will finally have a chance to show everyone what he can do as a starter.

After the excellent article on John Johnson III, the Rams free safety who would be a tremendous addition, why no articles on free agents who could addressing the other two major needs potential – a pass rushing interior defensive lineman or an edge pass rusher?

Other than the fact that Gruden seems to ignore the defensive side of the ball, I am not sure why there is so much discussion connecting FA WRs with the Raiders. While the offense was not good enough to overcome the horrible defense, the defense should be a priority.

And this is another reason why the Raiders never get any better. The second a player becomes good with the Raiders he leaves. This team is really bad with respect to building any type of continuity. The last thing this team need is to have to worry about the offence, but once again it will be an area of concern when they really need to fix that defence. Agholor will bolt because the Raiders will mess it up…leaving them with a very unproven Edwards, an underwhelming Ruggs and a decent Renfrow. Of course Waller is outstanding and Jacobs needs to be better next year.
