    It’s pathetic is what it is. If I am Carr, I am fed up with this organization and asking for a trade. Seriously, he has NO chance of leading this team anywhere now. And I’m sure he has zero interest in running for his life and getting steamrolled this season. Out of mercy for him they need to trade him somewhere.

    I would sure like to know what the h e double hockey sticks is going on in this organization. There has to be a money problem or something because this move makes no sense from a football perspective. They have one good player left…Waller…and if I’m him I’m planning my escape plan too.

      Agreed. In three years, Gruden has traded away his best offensive and defensive player in the same season, now he has released his best player, period. He still hasn’t found a replacement for Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper, now he has to find one for Rodney Hudson, too. And Trent Brown. And Richie Incognito. Even Nelson Agholor has to be replaced. Tall order, not a ton of cap space or draft capital to make it happen. Strange series of moves by Gruden and Mayock. They have some explaining to do in the coming days. Right now, no one can make much sense out of this mess.

        That fading sound of knocking on wood we can all hear is the Raiders’ play-off chances in the near future desperately hammering on the inside of their coffin/casket lid…..
        Hudson back to the Chiefs would be an unbearable betrayal by the Raider organisation.
        WTF is going on?

        If the report that he asked to be released is true, why were the Raiders in such a rush to do so?

        It certainly does not help with the cap since, instead of any relief, there is an immediate cap hit of $2 mm above what Hudson would count for if he stayed.

        The only economically justifiable scenario would have been a post-June 1 trade that would’ve resulted in a $9.9 mm cap relief and $3.7 mm of dead cap money.

          Rodney has been very good for the Raiders but at 32 not sure for how much longer he can play at that level. Zone blocking i fear

    No idea why they did not try and trade him to get something in return. Anything in return.

    What is the Raider ‘s Plan? To show how inept this football operation really is- what a complete laughing stock to say the least!!!!

      Well, well, trading Hudson is a good move for the Raiders- picking up a 3rd round pick as well as getting the $ off the books for 2021 & 2022.

      Now if they can trade Gabe Jackson as well for a pick that would be nice also.

      Richie is back, Good is back, feeling a little better now.

    Hello to all, I was really hoping that the Raiders would take a big step forward this season for all the fan who have been so loyal. I wanted to see Gruden and Mayock pick up some key building blocks this FA season so you all have something positive to look forward to.

    I am chiming in because getting rid of possibly the best player on the team is definitely not a step forward. I would not blame Carr one bit if he is asking for his release or trade. Most of you know I have had big questions about Carr from the get go. This will do nothing but set any of his progress back. I praised James back when he stepped in for Hudson and others on the line as a rookie and thought he earned respect and possible playing time. But make no mistake, he is not Hudson.

    WTF is Gruden thinking? The simple answer, he does not care what anyone else thinks and he is getting paid no matter what he does. That in itself is BS. And I stand by what I have said about Mark in the past. If he has a winning team competing for division titles and SB appearances, he will take the first huge offer for the team and walk. But that is jmo.

    Anyway, I saw this and had to say something.

    I hope all is well with you and your families. I miss you all, the games, the interaction and in general the best and most loyal fans on the planet. Nation Baby!

    This team might be lucky to get to 7-9.

    No deliberate plan.
    Head scratching moves.

    But this is what happens when you give total control, and a 10 year contract, to a coach who cannot manage personnel. It all starts with the lack of judgement by Mark Davis.

      They will be lucky to get 4 wins never mind 7. If you have a shaky offensive line you are finished. And there is no way this offensive line will be up to snuff this year. Signing a few low priced free agents up front isn’t going to help.

    Let’s put this idiocy in perspective.

    With Hudson cut, the count of missing starters on the Raiders roster has just risen to EIGHT!!! With unproven crew of DBs and suspect LBs, we are talking complete dismantling of the team and yet another major overhaul.

    In the fourth year of Gruden’s reign! And we all know how stellar is the Gruden’s record in talent evaluation and personnel decision-making.

    To be specific, in addition to 4 starters the Raiders still need if they want to improve their defense:
    – Interior pass-rushing linemen, a.k.a. 3-technique DT in 4-3 system;
    – Interior run-stuffing linemen, a.k.a. 1-technique DT in 4-3 system;
    – Free safety;
    – Slot cornerback;
    they now also need 4 solid starters on the offensive line as well, just to prevent a significant drop in offensive production relative to 2019:
    – Right tackle;
    – Right guard;
    – Center;
    – Left guard.

    Realistically, in the 2021 NFL Draft, the most they could hope for is to acquire one, maybe two instant starters. That leaves 6 or 7 to be acquired via free agency or trades.

    Yet, they’re letting others take both the excellent and the very good options that were affordable in free agency. Now they are left to scrape the bottom of the barrel…

    6-9 here we come. It’s bad enough we faded out the past 2 seasons and completely got locked out of the playoffs. Now we release our best and most consistent lineman? Culture change? Seems like the same ol’ dysfunctional Raiders of the 2000’s. I wouldn’t blame Carr if he asked to be traded from this dumpster fire of a team. This would be laughable if it weren’t my Raiders. Disgusted…again. Not sure how much more of this I’ll be able to take and remain a Raider fan. Go Raiders I guess

    Gruden likes to run the ball that didn’t happen late in the season. Am I the only one that remembers two years in a row 6-4 then 6-3 the run blocking wasn’t there the o-line was hurt and getting older. Rodney will go down as one of the better Raiders to play for the team great pass blocker very good in the run game. I would rather cut a guy a year early than a year to late. In young blood we must trust. How many times did the Raiders get inside the 10 and not be able to run it in with the most expensive line in the League. Doing something over and over and expecting different results well that hasn’t worked. Just a thought we shall see Raider Nation
